Real Ale. Traditional, satisfying, crafted with love

We make traditional, flavoursome real ales in cask and bottle. Open fermentation, whole hops and a variety of yeast strains give our beers their full-flavoured wholesome character. Most of our beer contains wheat as well as barley (the exception is the Gpbhar Reamhar stout which has no wheat in it)

Cask ales for the trade or an event, 10 litre bag-in box for a party, 500ml bottles to drink at home. Not all of our beers are available year round - Boc Beag is a Summer Ale, Gobhar Shamhna a Winter one, for example. (Do enquire before ordering so we can clarify and not disappoint you)

Gobhar Odhar

Best bitter is a popular beer style. We love this example: it’s malt-forward but nicely balanced. Reminds us of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord

Gobhar Reamhar

Our fellow Gaels in Ireland popularised this dry stout style; this one is outstanding and won both Gold Medal in the Strong Ales category and also Silver Medal Overall Champion at the SIBA Scotland Awards in October 2021 going on to win national Gold at BeerX 2022 then Gold again at IndieBeer 2024

Boc Bàn

Crisp and Bitter. A real beer-drinker’s beer.

Boc na Braiche

This strong, warming pale drinks beautifully on its own and excels beside a single malt whisky

Boc Beag

Our baby goat will make you smile on a Summer’s day but not leave you stotious after a couple. A friendly, winsome, tasty session ale - we love it

Gobhar Shamhna

Our Gobhar Shamhna is a slightly roasty Autumn Ale for bonfires, Samhain observance and toasting absent friends who draw close at this time. Maybe

Bainne nan Gobhar

Bainne nan Gobhar is a phrase from an ancient Gaelic proverb extolling the qualities of Goat’s milk. This one is our milk stout - has a bit of lactose in so not actually for the vegans. It won Gold and best in category at IndieBeer 2023 and UK Bronze in category at BeerX 2024

Gobhar Tioram

Gobhar Tioram is a classic bottle conditioned lager made from pilsner malt, Saaz hops and a Saccharomyces Pastorianus yeast. The low carb dry finish is provided by using an enzyme (glucoamylase) to make every bit of sugar available to the fermentation process. This one must be served chilled and must be drunk from a glass

Eas Geal

We make Eas Geal with a pilsner malt but an ale yeast so its a light, modern beer which is pale in appearance and citrus in flavour. Chinook hops are used throughout so there are delightful pineapple grapefruit, and pine forest notes. We’d drink it cold, preferably at the foot of our own waterfall, Maclean’s Towel, on Sgurr na h-Eanchainne behind the brewery. Other locations also work well. Won Bronze at IndieBeer 2023

Fìon an Eòrna

Barley wine is a traditional beer style not made much these days. Our Fìon an Eòrna is a plummy, indulgent sipper - at 11% ABV it’s not for the designated driver but delivers a width of flavour and warmth that we find hard to beat. It will improve in the bottle for years, so we wax the top and provide an opening strip. Silver medal winner, IndieBeer small pack 2024. Leann laidir air-leth.

Badan Fraoich

Heather was used to flavour beer in Scotland long before hops. This one is fragrant, smooth and delicious. Silver medal winner, IndieBeer small pack 2024. Fraoch anns a’ ghloinne.

Dol fodha na grèine

New for 2025, our lower (2.8% ABV) alcohol Amber Mild brims with toasty brown malts. Very little bitterness here, so all the focus is on the palate. We hope you love it
